Three motocross bikers break new world record at Caerphilly Castle

A new world record has been set after three motocross riders completed what is known as a “synchronised double backflip train.”

It was the world’s first stunt attempt of its kind which took place in the backdrop of the medieval castle at Caerphilly.

A double backflip train of three riders is said to be one of the most difficult and dangerous tricks in FMX (freestyle motocross).

Only a handful of top level riders can perform double backflips and they are rarely seen at competition level.

The riders taking part were Jackson Strong, Josh Sheehan and Luc Ackermann.

When asked if they felt nervous before the stunt they said “nerves always comes into play, they are what makes it real for us.”

World record bike stunt

This world record stunt marked the arrival of Nitro World Games in Cardiff next year.

The 2020 Nitro World Games is set to be the biggest action sports competition in the world with 100 athletes competing in a range of disciplines including BMX, FMX, Skate and scooter.
