Storm Gareth tracked its way across the UK last night, bringing wind gusts of 70mph to Capel Curig and causing travel disruption across Wales.
The Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ weather warning for wind, which is in force until 3pm on Wednesday.
The strong winds are likely to cause further disruption to travel plans, with some bus and train routes already affected.
It is also likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities could be affected by spray and large waves.
Wind gusts could reach 50-55mph inland today and 60mph around the coast.
Wind gusts recorded Wednesday morning:
- Capel Curig: 70mph
- Aberdaron: 60mph
- Mumbles Head: 43mph
The Met Office is advising people to check the latest forecast before travelling. Details can be found here.
